An international buffalo body-painting competition has become an unlikely sensation in Pu’er, Yunnan Province. Artists from eight countries took part of the annual contest held in Jiancheng County on May 18, reported Sina News. A total of 48 water buffalos were covered in brightly colored body paint. The first place prize of 100,000 yuan (US$16,026) was won by a team of local schoolchildren.
