Police still couldn’t find any valid possibility of that claim. But as there is no reason or possibility that local people could’ve done this, they started to believe the myth of aliens.

In the post-it note duel of “Wife said no” and “Apple said yes”, any guesses as to which yellow sticky turned out on top? That’s right, Apple’s fantastic customer service strikes again. A man returned an iPad 2 because his wife disapproved of the purchase only to find one arrive at his door shortly after. The full story goes something like this:

Man buys iPad 2. Man’s wife frowns upon iPad 2. Man returns iPad 2 with a note on it that says “wife said no”. Apple finds note and thinks it’s funny. Two Apple VPs find out and also find it humorous, so Apple sends man an iPad 2 with a note that says “Apple said yes”. Man is happy to have iPad 2. Wife is happy that no money was spent. Apple is happy to make customer happy.

The installation could help the tens of thousands of mountain climbers and trekkers who visit the Mount Everest region in the Solukhumbu district every year.

They have to depend on expensive satellite phones to remain in touch with their families as the remote region lacks proper communication facilities.

Nepali telecom company Ncell said its new facility is the first 3G setup at the base camp of Mount Everest, the world’s tallest mountain at 8,850 meters (29,035 feet).

“This achievement is as mighty as the altitude as 3G high speed internet will bring faster, more affordable telecommunication services to the people living in the Khumbu Valley, trekkers, and climbers alike,” said Lars Nyberg, chief of Nordic telecoms firm TeliaSonera, which owns 80 percent of the firm.

Ncell is a joint venture between local investors and TeliaSonera.

“Today we made the (world’s) highest video call from Mount Everest,” Ncell chief Pasi Koistinen told reporters in Kathmandu, referring to the call made from 5,300 meters (17,388 feet), the area from where climbers begin the actual climb to Mount Everest.

The facility provides fast surfing on the web, sending video clips and e-mails, as well as calls to friends and family back home at far cheaper rates than the average satellite phone, the company said in a statement.

Telecommunication services cover only a third of the 28 million people of Nepal, South Asia’s poorest country.

Ncell said TeliaSonera would spend over $100 million to expand its facilities in Nepal next year and ensure mobile coverage to more than 90 percent of the Himalayan nation’s population.

More than two-thirds of people living in New York hear their neighbours’ moaning, bumping and grinding, reveals a survey.

The news and information site for homeowners BrickUnderground.com found that nearly half of the 400 residents quizzed heard their neighbour having sex.

Most common sounds heard through the walls were thumping (60 percent), moaning (56 percent), screaming (28 percent) and “other” (23 percent), the survey showed.

“What this shows is if you live in New York City, you don’t need to worry about keeping quiet in bed on Valentine’s Day, because the chances are slim that someone is going to complain,” the New York Post quoted BrickUnderground’s founder Teri Karush Rogers, as saying.

“On the other hand, the morning-after elevator ride could be awkward,” Rogers added.

Resident Melissa Buck, 29, of the Upper East Side, revealed: “It’s like a train wreck-you have to stop what you’re doing and listen, even if it’s awful.

“A friend and I were cooking dinner at 6:30, while it was still light out, and we heard the neighbors. Why can you always hear the girl? It lasted probably 10 minutes, and we had to stop cooking and listen.”

Another dweller Leslie Vandike, 30, of East New York, Brooklyn, added: “Last summer, I was having a barbecue. Everybody was outside. Suddenly, we hear this loud screaming,” he said. “Upstairs, our neighbor was having sex. Everybody was like, ‘You go, girl,’ cheering them on.

“We never heard anything else after that.”

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) – Authorities say they’ve arrested two suspected bank robbers after their getaway vehicle ran out of gas.

Daytona Beach police say 38-year-old Randall Fredric Walker went into the Riverside National Bank Tuesday afternoon and demanded money from a teller. After leaving the bank with the money, authorities say Walker jumped into a Jeep Cherokee driven by 35-year-old Jason Warren Dietrich. The two didn’t get far before the vehicle ran out of gas.

The men got out of the sport utility vehicle and left the area separately. But police found the abandoned SUV and traced it back to Dietrich, the registered owner.

Both men face bank robbery charges. They were being held on $50,000 bail.

Andrew Mizsak, of Cleveland, Ohio, called 911 after a domestic argument got out of hand.

His son, also called Andrew, had thrown a plate of food across the kitchen table and clinched his fist at his dad when told to clean his room.

Andrew junior, who serves on the local school board, told the Cleveland Plain Dealer: “I know this looks bad.”

Mr Mizsak, who lives with his parents and also works as an independent political consultant, was “crying uncontrollably” after being told to clean his room, according to a police report.
