The “Drunk Girl” Social Experiment was Fake!

by Ramon

A video which supposedly shows a drunk girl asking for help in public from random men on the street who then proceed to take advantage of her situation went viral last week, but it is now proven to be fake. Apparently the actors in the viral video were tricked and told they would be participating in a “student film,” that the producer then turned around and published as a social experiment.

Not that it wasn’t already obvious from the terrible acting by the “drunk girl” in the original video (which is now set to private), but here’s proof that the social experiment was a hoax.

Unfortunately these staged PSAs can be more harmful and helpful. Based on the comments that were left on the original video, many viewers never doubted the video and shared it with their friends. Before the video was removed from YouTube, it had over 11 million views.

and here’s the “drunk girl” actress apologizing:

The video was done by Stephen Zhang. He better be getting ready to defend himself in multiple lawsuits soon!
