Every generation for the last 60 years has been promised a flying car and so far, no dice. In fact, I think the idea originally came from the Wright brothers, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, I suppose we’ll have to settle for an underwater car, however that brings to mind another as-yet unfulfilled futuristic promise: human colonies on the floor of the ocean.
But let’s not take this time to muse about the failures of our futurists, let’s revel in these six TV sci-fi gadgets that actually exist.
Some, of course, are a tad more practical or appealing than others. For example, when I compare the virtues and potential problems of holographic phones and jet packs, I have to admit that I’m far more likely to be an early adopter of the holographic technology.
If your holographic phone happens to have a bug in its software somewhere, your head doesn’t get driven into the pavement like a telephone pole. I’m just sayin’…
