6 of the World’s Coolest Jobs

by derek

This post might piss some people off considering college graduates are struggling to find a job at McDonalds. The following is a list of the some of the worlds coolest jobs. Odds of landing one though are extremely low though.

Waterslide Tester

Waterslide testing is a paid traveling position. You get to go around the world testing waterslides for speed, height, water quality, and safety. If you’re thinking about applying for a job in quality control- you might want to consider this option.

Wine Taster and Blogger

If you’re looking for a job that’s a little less thrilling, you can always get drunk and blog about what your tasting. Hardy Wallace landed a 6-month contract with Murphy-Goode Winery making $10,000/month. Job duties: drink wine and update Facebook and Twitter. Most people do that on a weekly basis as is. It would be great to make 10 grand off of it.

Island Caretaker

I’m not sure it could get better than this. If chosen, island caretakers are typically hired to stay on an island to blog about the area for promotional purposes. It pretty much sounds like you wake up, drink, snorkel, and then write about the fish you saw.

Professional Whistler

Henry Brady is professional whistler. He told Fox News, “A whistler is an artist just like an actor or musician. My profession has taken me across the world and allowed me to touch people’s hearts.”

Furniture Tester

Alright, it’s not as easy as it sounds. You have to sit, recline, lay down, and relax. I would imaging that you have to give feedback as well. What kind of experience do you need to apply for this job? Maybe write down, “I like to sit on a couch and watch TV.”

Bike Rider for Google Maps

Since the “Google Mobile” can’t make it down every ally or to certain historic sites, they’ve come up with a bicycle contraption. For this job- you simply ride the bike around while 9 cameras take a 360 degree shot of the area.
