Twice a year the men of the tribe Gurung in central Nepal overcome the Himalayan foothills to gather the world’s largest honey bees. Experience and knowledge about the extraction of honey from hives that are on dangerous hillsides, passed down from father to son for centuries. In 1987, the 63-year-old head of the village by the name of Mani Lal was the last who had these priceless knowledge.
